Thiruvalluvar Statue
Another landmark destination in the town is Thiruvalluvar Statue just adjacent to the Vivekananda rock memorial. This is the statue of the famous Tamil poet and philosopher, Thiruvalluvar. It rises to a height of 38-feet and symbolizes 38 chapters of virtue in the literary masterpiece, the Tirukkural. The place has significant cultural worth and remains a must visit.
Kanyakumari Beach
Kanyakumari is a heaven for beach lovers. The Kanyakumari Beach here is located at the confluence of the Indian Ocean, Bay of Bengal and Arabian Sea. The beach has a perfect setting with multihued colored sand, splendid sunrise and incredible sunset views. The beach is unsuitable for swimming as it is rocky.
Padmanabhapuram Palace
One must also witness the beauty of the Padmanabhapuram Palace in the town. This 16th century teakwood palace remains the finest exemplar of Taccusastra. Padmanabhapuram Palace underlines the architectural grandeur and charismatic heritage of the kingdom of Travancore.
